This 73 yr. old white lady learned something new today by reading your column. As it turns out, we, too have at least $1500 cash on hand for emergencies. I think it is because my parents and grandparents grew up during the Great Depression. Anyway, I think it is a smart thing to do to keep cash in a fire-proof locked safe since you never know what can happen in this crazy, Trumpified world we live in now---even though he LOST the race in 2020.
